My first glimpse of an Artgerm art goes back to late 2008, when falling on deviantart into some art he did linked to 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' ... and into the 'Pepper Smile' digital illustration : I quite immediately decided I kinda liked the guy style (!).
Making research onto Pepper and her history, I discovered that she simply was created by Stanley for him to experiment various design techniques. But few Pepper-themed wallpaper arts he came up with and showed up online inspired a lot of fans, some of which kinda skilled, who wanted to give a try into designing their own unique Pepper artwork (what Stan welcomed and soon named as 'The Pepper Project').
Professionally, Hong Kong-based Stanley Lau is the creative director and co-founder of Imaginary Friends Studios. IFS has created artwork for major players in the entertainment and gaming industry, including Capcom, DC Comics and Square Enix.

Decidedly oriental in art style (I cannot not have a thought sometimes to immense artist Shunya Yamashita when admiring Stan's as well immediately recognizable works), Stanley didn't stick only to japanese-born characters' renditions but then begun to produce top notch illustrations featuring established western comics characters as well, keeping up the polish shininess and positive atmosphere which are the first qualities of his work overall.

More recently he begun to try himself from time to time at traditional arts.... I bet you're following my inner approbation and motivation as a collector ! ;)
