Closer crafts Adriano De Vincentiis.
I'm not meaning 'closer' thinking in terms of geographical distance (even if, at least these years, it could fit), but both in age and seemingly a common european culture basis, as conversing with him often reveals - even if of course having travelled alot and confronted himself to various creative universes and lives he's got of course a far broader than I! One or two of his manias I can't much get, though, which (somewhat hopefully?) leaves the character partly mysterious to me. May be coming from his 6 years living in HongKong??...

Anyway Adriano's inner universe is relentlessly serious, adult-oriented, often weird or dark (he quite obviously likes ambivalent or disquieting characters, but aren't these the most interesting?), terribly esthetic (can't but think of his girls' anatomical thorough perfection), and cogent (something bursts, often. no gratuitousness). Love it.

Adriano literally excels at drawing figurative but his drawings do show something far beyond : the inner feelings his characters are sensing are often palpable looking at his works, especially in his (plain normally long time demanding) hot comic stories. Take a look at p.4 of Alias..
Probably this trait in the first place makes him completely unique an erotic comic story not only illustrator but creator, when he grants time to it. Do not blush myself to admit I am desperately fan of his sensual - I may even say sexual - vision when it comes to draw ladies. Dunno if this is something that somehow comes to him from his italian origins or not.  Stays that everything in Alias (the last Sophia story), and around-gathered stuff in the 'Secret Sophia' book exudes irrepressible desire towards its heroine..
